چکیده
To assess the influence of growing salt structures on facies distribution, stratal pattern, and thickness trends, this paper provides tectonostratigraphic framework outstandingly exposed Cotiella minibasins (South-Central Pyrenees, Spain). Based detailed analysis field cross-sections, our results showcase syn-halokinetic upper Coniacian-lower Santonian infill (1.5–3 km thick) records four shallow-marine depositional sequences, made mixed siliciclastic-carbonate stratigraphic sequences. This is subdivided in three units, identified by using large small-scale halokinetic (i.e. wedges, megaflaps) variations associations, thicknesses, patterns from wall flanks to central part minibasins. The first unit onset movement with overlying laterally continuous sheet-like sedimentary layers progressive transitions over distances kms. halokinesis sedimentation was minor, only impacted trends depocenters localization. second evacuation at surface presence salt-wall derived detritus, rapid downbuilding a increase sand-rich proportions. pattern characterized sheet like layers, discontinuous 300–600 m downdip wall. Topographically elevated walls likely amplified tidal currents, implying accumulation along margin. sedimentation, depocenter localization significant. third end stage, marking brutal decrease facies, controlled regional controls such as eustacy tectonics. patterns, large-scale geometries Our work indicates that distinguishing these units their characteristics prime importance understand archetypal margins.

The Cretaceous deposits in Morakan, located in the northeast of Khoy, a town in western Azerbaijan province, Iran, are primarily made up of carbonate rocks. These deposits, which are of 717 meters thick, lie on the clastic facies of Jurassic and are covered with beneath the pelagic beds of the Upper Cretaceous. To investigate the facies, sedimentary environment and sequential stratigraphy of th...
متن کاملFacies and Depositional Environments of Cretaceous Siliciclastic Sediments in Al Bauga Area , Northern Sudan
The outcropping Cretaceous siliciclastic sediments in the Al Bauga area in Northern Sudan reach a maximum thickness of about 30 meter. They rest with angular unconformity on tilted Precambrian basement rocks and are capped by Tertiary-Quaternary basalts forming a type of nonconformity. The sedimentary sequence was subdivided into three major units separated by two disconformities. The lower uni...
